Pune – 5 March 2020

Faurecia

For our “Girls On The Move Week” action, we will be addressing the future women engineers.

The focus will be on promoting STEM careers among girls of the 9th and 11th grade, who will be choosing subjects that they'd want to pursue the next academic year.

Here in India, the number of female engineering students is less than their male counterparts.

We want to use this opportunity to encourage more young girls to consider a career in engineering.

On 5th March 2020, 8 Faurecia employees will be visiting 213 students from St. Mary's School and Junior College, Pune, India- an institute which is more than 150 years old.

The students are from 9th and 11th grades. We will start by giving the students an overview about all the career opportunities that are available for women in STEM, especially the automotive industry. Our engineers will share their inspiration to choose STEM and insights into their live as women in STEM careers.

We will then host an interactive ideation workshop with the students, led by the Novus X.0 Team. Novus X.0 is a Faurecia India initiative to foster an open innovations culture among students.

The students will be asked to use their imaginations to come up with innovative solutions to the assigned automotive related problem statements.
