VEOLIA NORTH AMERICA: SCHOOL DISCUSSION @ BC

Fort St. James, British Columbia – 2 March 2020

On the 2nd of March, to inspire young women to enter STEM careers, we will have our plant manager as well as three leading female employees working at our biomass facility in Fort St James give a talk to the entire Fort St. James Secondary School.

There will be around 250 students, ranging from grade 8 to 12, attending this 45 min presentation. The latter will have the following structure :

  • Welcome students
  • Introduction of Veolia North America and the two biomass facilities at Fort St James by the plant manager
  • Three leading women occupying the roles of : technician, plant operator and financial analyst will present their careers, impactful work and personal challenges faced of being a woman in the field
  • Open discussion and questions

VEOLIA NORTH AMERICA: SITE VISIT TO CHUM @ QC

Montreal, QC – 6 March 2020
Organized by Collège Bois de Boulogne, Collège Maisonneuve and Cégep Marie-Victorin

On the 6th of March, we have invited three pre-university schools to come explore the CHUM (University of Montreal Health Centre), one of the largest medical centers in North America that we are providing services for.

Our 7 students studying information technology, mathematics and science will have the opportunity to discover how a complex healthcare center uses innovative technologies to function optimally and sustainably.

The visit will be done by three experts working on the CHUM project : our reliability and operations manager for automated transport systems, performance advisor as well as our technical services and maintenance manager.

This visit of 2 hours will have the following structure :

  • Welcome students
  • Introduction of Veolia North America, the CHUM and testimonial/importance of work of each individual conducting the visit
  • Visit of the different departments
  • Open discussion and questions

VEOLIA NORTH AMERICA: VISIT TO USED OIL REGENERATION SITE @ QC

Saint-Hyacinthe, QC – 6 March 2020

11 young girls were able to take part in this Veolia event in Saint-Hyacinthe.

On the 6th of March, we have invited the department of biotechnology and civil engineering at the Cégep of Saint-Hyacinthe to come discover our used oil regeneration site, the first plant in the entire region of Québec that converts oil waste into clean, reusable oil.

The students and teachers will have the opportunity to meet with three of our highly knowledgeable employees working at the facility : our quality assurance manager, performance and optimization director as well as our site director.

This visit of 2 hours will have the following structure :

  • Welcome students
  • Introduction of Veolia North America, the facility and circular economy, and testimonial of our three employees
  • Site visit
  • Open discussion and questions

On the 2nd of March, operations director, talent acquisition partner and/or recruiter will visit the CFTC Sorel-Tracy campus to promote to students the opportunities of working as drivers and industrial cleaning operators.

This visit of 1 hour will have the following structure :

  • Welcome students
  • Introduction of Veolia North America and testimonial of our Operation Director (Female)
  • Job Opportunities for women in traditionally male-dominated industry
  • Open discussion and questions

Girls on the Move @ Safran Landing Systems Toronto

Toronto – 5 March 2020
Organized by Local High Schools from Ajax, ON

We invited students from Grade 10 to our site for :

  1. a tour of our Engineering, Production, MRO & Test facility.
  2. interactive session with the students where they will learn some team building principles
  3. an opportunity to interact with females in Engineering, Operations & Support functions.
  4. a chance to see some the tools we use in designing Landing Gear (3D printing, Catia) & our new augmented reality deployment in MRO etc.)

We are reached out to all local High Schools & planed a visit for 50 students.
